Unconditional love and nurturing of children is in Kimbilio's DNA. In addition to the thousands of street children whose lives Kimbilio touches at the outreach center and the school, there are about 50 children who call Kimbilio "home." These children, who reside in Kimbilio's four residences, are in the loving care of four Congolese families that turn these four residences into warm, welcoming, loving homes. Kimbilio's goal is for each of these homes to recreate a family's love as closely as possible.
Selemani is a Kimbilio pioneer - he's been part of the Kimbilio team since its inception in 2009. Back then, he worked on the very challenging but successful start-up of Kimbilio's outreach center. He is a valued, loyal, long-time employee. In 2013, Selemani married his charming wife Colette, and they are blessed with three children of their own. In 2016, Selemani and Colette accepted the opportunity to be the parents at Janet Bokwa House, Kimbilio's long-term home for girls. Selemani and Colette live at the House with their own children. The Kimbilio girls in this home have no prospects of returning to their biological families; instead, Janet Bokwa House is home and the girls have the parental love and affection of Selemani and Colette.
