There's nothing better than a great teacher

kimbilious

There is a Japanese proverb that says, "Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher." Case in point: meet Madame Joséphine NGOIE WA NSUNGU, first year teacher at the Kimbilio Mapendo School.

Madame Joséphine has been a teacher since 2016. She has worked at the Kimbilio Mapendo School since it opened more than three years ago. She is the first year teacher. She is married to Monsieur Jean, and they have five children of their own. Madame Joséphine's younger sister lives with the family to help with household needs in the morning while Madame Joséphine is at work. The sister attends school herself in the afternoons. Three of Madame Joséphine's and Monsieur Jean's children currently attend the Kimbilio Mapendo School.

For Kimbilio, Madame Joséphine's wish is for the school to continue to advance and for other projects in community development to be realized -- projects such as establishing a community health center and a vocational school. For her own work, she aspires to develop exemplary and outstanding students. She also expresses gratitude to Kimbilio for employing her, and for establishing the beautiful Kimbilio Mapendo School which is one-of-a-kind in its part of Lubumbashi.

First year sets the foundation for children's academic paths. Madame Joséphine says that she needs to support the children in adapting to school. For some, it is not easy, with each student starting at a different level of readiness. She uses techniques appropriate to establishing reading and writing skills.
