Kimbilio's participation in DRC Mining Week

Lubumbashi, where Kimbilio is based, is one of the country’s most important economic centers, a gateway to the copper and cobalt belt, and a city where national questions often meet local realities. It is therefore the logical host city each year for DRC Mining Week, an important conference and exhibition focused on the trends, technologies and strategies shaping the future of mining. It is a critical learning and networking event which the Kimbilio management team attended earlier this summer.

Participer à la DRC Mining week 2026 à Lubumbashi en tant que représentant de Kimbilio à été pour moi une experience particulierement enrichissante tant sur le plan professionnel qu' humain.
Durant ces quelques jours j'ai l'opportunité de rencontrer differents acteurs du secteur minier: Entreprises, Investisseurs, Institutions publiques, Organisations partenaires et professionnels engagés dans l'avenir du secteur minier en République Démocratique du Congo.
Cette participation m'a surtout permis de mieux comprendre les enjeux qui entourent aujourd'hui l'industrie miniere congolaise notamment la transformation locale des minerais, la création de valeurs, le développement des communautés, l'emploi des Jeunes, la responsabilité sociale et la construction d'une chaine de valeur miniere plus inclusive. En représentant Kimbilio, j'ai egalement compris l'importance de porter une vision qui place l'humain au centre du Développement, les resources minieres de la RDC représentent une opportunité exceptionnelle. Mais leur veritable impact se mesure aussi à leur capacité à contribuer au bien - être des communautés et à créer des opportunités durable pour les génetions futures.
Je suis reconnaissant à Kimbilio pour cette confiance et cette opportunité de contribuer à mon niveau, aux réflexions et aux échanges autour de l'avenir de notre secteur minier. Une experience riche en rencontres, en apprentissages et en perspectives et surtout, une motivation supplémentaire pour continuer à oeuvrer pour une RDC où les richesses naturelles contribuent réellement au développement des communautés.
Participating in DRC Mining Week 2026 in Lubumbashi as a representative of Kimbilio was a particularly enriching experience for me, both professionally and personally.
During those few days, I had the opportunity to meet various stakeholders in the mining sector: companies, investors, public institutions, partner organizations, and professionals committed to the future of the mining industry in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Above all, this participation gave me a better understanding of the issues currently facing the Congolese mining industry—specifically local mineral processing, value creation, community development, youth employment, social responsibility, and the construction of a more inclusive mining value chain. Representing Kimbilio also helped me grasp the importance of championing a vision that places people at the heart of development; while the DRC’s mineral resources represent an exceptional opportunity, their true impact is measured by their ability to contribute to community well-being and create sustainable opportunities for future generations.
I am grateful to Kimbilio for their trust and for the opportunity to contribute, in my own way, to the discussions and dialogue regarding the future of our mining sector. It was an experience rich in encounters, learning, and new perspectives—and, above all, it provided added motivation to continue working toward a DRC where natural wealth truly contributes to community development.
